Yoga World Record Scripted In PM Modi’s Presence At UN Headquarters In New York
New York: A yoga world record was created in the presence of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the UN headquarters which hosted the International Yoga Day celebrations here on Wednesday.
As the Prime Minister and several other VIPs like Hollywood actor Richard Gere, UN General Assembly president Csaba Korisi, deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed and New York City Mayor Eric Adams joined thousands of enthusiasts in the yoga session, Guinness World Records acknowledged that a record 135 nationalities were represented.
The previous record was representatives from 114 nations, set at a yoga display event in Qatar last year.
Modi was handed over the certificate by officials of Guinness World Records.

“Today there was a Guinness World Records title attempt for most nationalities in a Yoga lesson… Today in New York, at the UN, they have 135. It is a new Guinness World Records title,” said Michael Empric, Guinness World Records official adjudicator.
