Bhubaneswar: The third editon of ‘Ignite Short Film Festival-2020’ was organised by the production house, Sparsh, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at Nayapalli UCCI premises on Wednesday. Films on the Mahatma were showcased during the festival. The theme was ‘Values of Gandhi’.
Senoir journalists Sampad Mohapatra, Sandeep Sahu and National Award winning producer Amartya Bhattacharya were present.
Young film producer Sheikh Gulzar Hussain received the first prize comprising
Rs. 20,000 cash for his fim ‘In Memory Of Bapu’. Another young filmmaker Sangram Keshari was the first runners up for ‘Gandhi Au Nahanti’ winning Rs 10,000 and Gyana Ranjan Sathua was the second runners up for his film ‘Swachha Sankalpa’, also winning Rs 10,000.
“It is easy to make environment and health-related films but difficult to make films based on past events. They showed their talent by making films on Gandhiji, which is a 100-year old story,” said Sampad Mahapatra.
Amartya Bhattacharya said, “The number of contestants was less as compared to previous year. It was difficult for us to choose the best film. ”
