Khurda: Khurda Collector Nirmal Mishra on Thursday ordered for a detailed probe into the death of a youth, who allegedly committed suicide after failing to get a house allotted to him under the Rural Housing Scheme.
The deceased identified as Laxmidhar Behera had earlier posted a video on the social media, explaining his plight at not getting a house allotted to him. He alleged that he was asked to pay bribe money for it at the block level at Nirakarpur in Khurda.
“A house was sanctioned to the beneficiary. After investigation, necessary action will be taken against the persons who had allegedly demanded bribe from the youth,” the collector said.
The youth’s body was found near Gahiraadia drain under Nirakarpur panchayat on Wednesday.
