Youth Group Marches In Favour Of Palestine In Kolkata

New Delhi: Amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, the supporters of the two sides have held protests in several countries. In Kolkata, the Minority Youth Federation, led by social activist Mohammad Kamrujjaman, took out a massive protest in support of Palestine.

The Minority Youth Federation organised the protest march, firmly advocating for Palestine and condemning Israel. Demonstrators waved banners of “Free Palestine” and “We want peace in Gaza”, India Today reported.

The organisation called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to align with Israel and instead, maintain a neutral position in hopes of facilitating an expedient resolution to the ongoing war.

“India should maintain a neutral stand in this war. This war should end soon and India should play a neutral role to make sure peace is maintained in the region. However, PM Modi is not doing that. He is supporting Israel. Former prime ministers like Atalji and Pandit Nehru supported the cause of Palestine. It will be wrong for social justice if the Government of India blindly supports Israel,” said Kamrujjaman, the head of the Minority Youth Federation.

A delegation from the federation plans to submit a memorandum to the Bengal Governor’s office, urging the Prime Minister to maintain a neutral stance in the crisis and employ all available means to resolve the Israel-Palestine conflict
