Khurda: A youth was critically injured in firing by some unidentified persons at Parichala village under Begunia police station limits of Khurda on Wednesday.
Sources said two unidentified criminals attacked Santosh Kumar Routray of Jamusahi when he was going for some work on his bike. The criminals fired two rounds of bullets at him and fled from the spot.

Residents rescued Santosh and sent him to Khurda District Headquarters Hospital. On being informed, the police reached the spot and started investigations into the matter.
Though the exact cause behind the attack is yet to be ascertained, past enmity is suspected.
