Berhampur: A youth was killed after he was reportedly run over by a train while crossing railway tracks in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Thursday.
According to sources, the incident took place at 2.30 pm when the youth, identified as 20-year-old Bidyadhar Behera of Badareddy Sahi in Chhatrapur of the district, was going to a relative’s house in the town.
While he was crossing the train tracks near Chhatrapur Court railway station, Bhubaneswar-Chennai Superfast Express hit him at a high speed.
The locals, who found him dead on the spot informed the GRP. Later, a team from GRP police station went to the spot and seized the body. They have registered a case of unnatural death and launched an investigation.
