Balangir: Police on Friday arrested four persons in connection with the murder of a 25-year-old youth on the premises of the Bhima Bhoi Medical College & Hospital in Odisha’s Balangir.
According to police sources, a cousin of the murdered youth, Muna Dora (27), is among those arrested.
Aju Dora, who used to run a tiffin stall on the premises of the hospital, was hacked to death on August 16. He was attacked near the oxygen plant of the hospital. Dora died on the spot. His mother sustained critical injuries while trying to save him.
According to preliminary investigation, a dispute between Dora and his cousin led to the murder. “Muna and Aju had a fight over a minor issue about one or two months ago. An aggrieved Manu plotted to kill him and hired two supari killers for Rs 1 lakh,” said Balangir SP Nitin Kusalkar.
Muna also provided them with weapons and contacted one more person for committing the murder. After several attempts, they finally managed to hack Aju to death in the early hours of August 16.
The SP identified the other three accused as Rahul Panigrahi (27) Som Punji(24) and Chandra Pradhan(27). They have no criminal antecedents, he added.
The police also took the four arrested persons to the hospital premises and recreated the crime scene.
