Shimla: An 18-year-old student in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district killed a leopard with stones. Pravesh Sharma, the youth, fought off the leopard near his home. He is an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) student. The incident took place on Monday in Sarli village.
He spotted the animal when he stepped out to collect milk, a PTI report states. When the leopard jumped on him, he held it by its jaws to save himself. The fight continued for more than 10 minutes. He shouted for help as he fought.
He hit the leopard with stones. However, he also sustained several injuries. He was treated at the Arki hospital.
Forest department officials visited him. They gave him over Rs 5000 as immediate assistance. According to residents, there had been instances of sighting leopards in the area previously too.
