Youth, Minors Caught For ‘Rape’ In Jagatsinghpur & Sundargarh

Jagatsinghpur/Sundergarh: Police nabbed a youth and two minors on separate rape charges in Jagatsinghpur and Sundergarh districts on Sunday.

The youth was caught at Kujanga in Jagatsinghpur district for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl. The matter came to light after the victim’s family lodged a police complaint.

According to the complaint, the accused had allegedly abducted the child while she was playing near her house. He took her to a lonely spot and then raped her.

The victim’s family later found the child in a critical condition.

Police said they were interrogating the accused. The youth and the child will be sent for medical examination, they added.

In the other incident, two minor boys were arrested on rape charges at Tangarpali in Rourkela on Sunday morning.

According to sources, the boys had allegedly raped a minor on July 31.

The matter came to light, when the girl’s parents lodged a complaint at Tangarpali police station on Saturday.

Police have sent the two accused to a children reformation home.
