Youth murdered over ‘past enmity’ in Pipili

Pipili: A youth died after a group of unidentified miscreants attacked him with sharp weapons at Kuapada village in Pipili of Puri district on Friday.

Police identified the victim as Niranjan Balabanatray.

Niranjan was rescued by some locals and admitted to Delang hospital. He was later shifted to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar, where he
succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

According to available information, Niranjan had gone to a nearby field to attend nature’s call when the assailants attacked him with sharp weapons and fled the spot. Police attributed the attack to a possible past enmity.
