Rayagada: A youth died after being run over by a vehicle near Theruabali Bridge in Rayagada district on Wednesday morning.
The victim was identified as Sujan Lima. He was pedalling from Pindapadar to Therubali on his bicycle when the accident took place.
Lima was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead, police sources said.
As the news of his death spread, local residents blocked the Rayagada-Muniguda national highway for nearly an hour demanding compensation for the family of the deceased. They lifted the blockade after police reached the spot and assured them of immediate action.
