Koraput: A YouTuber from Berhampur was swept away at Duduma waterfall in Odisha’s Koraput district on Saturday.
He has been identified as Sagar Tudu.
According to sources, Sagar, accompanied by his friend Abhijit Behera from Cuttack, were at the popular tourist destination to shoot drone footage for his channel in the afternoon. He got stranded on a rock after a sudden water surge from Machkund Dam, slipped and went missing despite efforts by locals and other tourists to rescue him.
On being informed, Machkunda police and Fire Brigade personnel rushed to the spot and launched a search operation. He was yet to be traced till filing of this report.
The authorities of Machakunda dam released around 2,000 cusecs of water following heavy rainfall in Lamtaput area of Koraput, after alerting the people residing downstream of the dam, the sources added.
