Yuzvendra Chahal & Dhanashree Finalise Divorce Amid ₹60 Crore Alimony Rumours

Mumbai: Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife, Dhanashree Verma have completed their legal separation, according to reports.

ABP News reported that Chahal and Dhanashree officially finalised their divorce at Bandra Family Court on February 20. The two reportedly arrived at 11 am to complete the legal formalities.

During the session, the judge suggested a 45-minute counselling session. Both affirmed their mutual decision to separate, revealing they had been living apart for 18 months due to “compatibility concerns”. After hearing their statements, the court granted the divorce, delivering the final ruling at 4:30 pm, officially ending their marriage, Pink Villa confirmed.

The popular choreographer shared a cryptic Instagram post just hours after reports confirmed her divorce from Chahal. “From Stressed To Blessed – Isn’t it amazing how God can turn our worries and trials into blessings? If you’re stressing about something today, know that you have a choice. You can either keep worrying, or you can surrender it all to God and choose to pray about everything. There is power in having faith that God can work all things together for your good,” she posted on her Insta story.

The leg-spinner also thanked god for protecting him from difficult conditions with a cryptic story. “God has protected me more times than I can count. So I can only imagine the times I’ve been rescued that I don’t even know about. Thank you, God, for always being there, even when I don’t know it. Amen,” Chahal wrote on Instagram.

According to an ETimes report, Chahal is expected to pay Rs 60 crore as alimony to Dhanashree. However, neither of them has confirmed or denied this claim. The rumoured settlement has sparked debates on social media, with many questioning the figure’s accuracy, given Chahal’s cricket earnings and Dhanashree’s success as a choreographer and influencer.

Chahal is not part of the Indian cricket team currently, which is taking part in the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai. His last professional match took place on December 5 in 2024 where he played for Haryana in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Speculation about trouble in their paradise had intensified when both of them unfollowed each other on Instagram towards the end of last year. The cricketer also deleted all photos with his wife from his profile while Dhanashree removed ‘Chahal’ from her Instagram name. Amid these signs of a possible separation, in a mysterious post, the cricketer shared a cryptic Instagram story saying, “New life loading.”

The couple, who married in December 2020 in an intimate Gurgaon ceremony, had a love story that captivated fans. Their bond started during the COVID pandemic when Chahal, inspired by Dhanashree’s dance videos, asked her to teach him. Their unexpected connection turned into marriage, making their split all the more surprising for their supporters.
