Baripada: As many as 22 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from Mayurbhanj district in the last 24 hours. Those included 10 local contact cases.
Of the new positive cases, four are from Khunta block, five each from Badasahi and Bahalada blocks and one each from Baripada Municipality, GB Nagar, Betnoti, Karanjia, Saraskana, Shamakhunta, Sukruli and Kuliana blocks.
Besides the local contact cases, the rest 12 persons are returnees from other states. While four persons have returned from Telangana, two from Karnatak-2, one from West Bengal, two from Maharashtra, and one each from Andhra Pradesh, Goa and New Delhi.
Ten persons have bee sent to institutional quarantine centres and two are in home quarantine.
Out of 10 local contact cases, five are from Badasahi block, three from Khunta and one each from Kuliana block and Baripada Municipality.
The contact tracing of all these cases is underway.
Out of the total 376 positive cases reported from the district so far, 112 are active cases while 252 patients have recovered and are being discharged from the COVID hospital.
