Bhubaneswar: G Udayagiri, a hill station in Kandhamal district, remained the coldest place in Odisha for the second consecutive day at 3.2 degrees Celsius, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Saturday.
With cold wave conditions gripping Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Kandhamal districts, the night temperature hovered below 10 degree Celsius at nine other places in the state:
- Phulbani in Kandhamal: 5.6°C
- Semiliguda in Koraput: 6.2°C
- Kirei in Sundargarh: 7.2°C
- Rourkela in Sundargarh: 8.3°C
- Koraput: 8.5°C
- Jharsuguda: 8.6°C
- Sundargarh: 9°C
- Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi: 9.5°C
- Ranital in Bhadrak: 9.8°C
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 14.4 degree Celsius and 14.8 degree Celsius respectively.

Notably, the MeT office has forecast no change in the night temperature for another four days. The drop in the temperature has been attributed to strengthening of northerly and north-westerly dry winds at the lower level.
