Bhubaneswar: The 108 ambulance services, which were affected, have been normalised as its agitating employees have called off their strike in Odisha.
The ambulance employees had started the strike in support of their 7-point charter of demands, affecting the emergency services across the state.
Their demands included regularisation of their services, payment of salary dues, gratuity facility, reappointment of the employees who have been suspended on various grounds. The 108 Karmachari Mahasangh, which spearheaded the agitatin, said they have withdrawn the strike after meeting with the authorities.
However, they were running the ambulances offroad by switching off the GPS system as they would have faced stern action if they had totally stopped running the ambulances. After the agitation was called off, the people can avail the onroad services of the 108 ambulance in the state, they said.
