New Delhi: Results for the NEET UG 2026 exams were released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday evening. As many as 11.21 lakh candidates have qualified for admission to undergraduate medical, dental, AYUSH and allied courses across the country.

The results were announced in time to ensure that the medical admission and counselling schedule remains on track, India Today reported.

Scorecards can now be downloaded by candidates who appeared for the examination from the official website, neet.nta.nic.in. The NTA has also published the lists of All India Rank holders, state toppers, category-wise toppers, qualifying cut-offs and language-wise participation.

Nearly 20 lakh candidates appeared for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination, conducted on June 21. The examinations were held at 5,440 centres across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. The examination was held in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi and Urdu.

More than 58 per cent of women qualified for admission to the colleges this year, the NTA said.

The highest score of 715 out of 720 was jointly secured by Aryan Gupta of Punjab and Panshul Bansal of Haryana.

According to the agency, 19 candidates scored above 700 marks, 138 students secured more than 690 marks, while 1,492 of them scored 650 or above.

The results reveal that 10,160 candidates scored 600 or above, while 90,780 students obtained 500 or more marks.

Over 93 per cent of the top 138 performers were first-time NEET candidates, while nearly all of them were between 17 and 19 years of age, the NTA said.

While Uttar Pradesh contributed the largest number of qualified candidates, there were successes from all 36 States and Union Territories. More than 1.7 lakh candidates from UP qualified, while Lakshadweep pitched in with 43.

According to the NTA, 17 state toppers scored 700 marks or above, while 26 state toppers secured more than 690 marks.

The agency has also released the number of qualified candidates across major categories. While 2.91 lakh general candidates qualified, there were 5.12 lakh from the OBC-NCL category. The number of Scheduled Caste candidates who qualified is 1.59 lakh and 63,716 were from the Scheduled Tribes category.

There were 95,026 candidates from the General – Economically Weaker Section who qualified and 3,666 came from the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) category. There were 303 candidates from the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category.

The NTA has also released the category-wise cut-off marks and qualifying percentiles along with the results.

The results came a day after the agency released the final answer key. The NTA has earlier revised two Physics questions — dropping one question and accepting two correct answers for another — resulting in 8 bonus marks being awarded to all candidates as per the evaluation policy.

Qualified candidates will now participate in the counselling process for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other undergraduate medical programmes. Counselling for the 15 per cent All India Quota will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), while the remaining state quota seats will be filled through the respective state counselling authorities.

Candidates should rely only on the official websites for counselling-related updates, the NTA has said, cautioning them against fraudulent admission offers or fake communications seeking money or personal credentials.
