Bhubaneswar: As many as 14 students from Class XI and XII of SAI International School, here have cracked the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) examinations.
Atish Kumar Sahoo of Class XI of the school has emerged as the state topper for KVPY 2021 and secured all India rank (AIR) 13. Goutam Das of Class XII, who had recently topped in JEE Mains in the state, has stands at AIR 222.
The qualifying students from Class XII are Sooraj Nanda (AIR 263), Deepak Nanda (487), Pournava Pratyasa Pradhan (536), Nekta N Swastisravan Mishra (828), Ankan Mohapatra (851), Asish Kumar Panda (1320), Gauri Shankar Swain (1340), Shree Rath (1498), Shreemoy Mahapatra (1644) and N Anuska (528). From Class IX, Soham Pal (154) and Veda Raju (648) qualified.
The KVPY is a national programme of fellowship in Basic Sciences, initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology of the Union Government, to attract the students to pursue basic science courses and research career in science. The qualifying students will receive a monthly fellowship of Rs 5000 with an annual contingency grant of Rs 20,000 for 5 years after clearing Class XII.
