15 Killed, 50 Injured As 10 Coaches Of Hazara Express Train Derails In Pakistan

Rawalpindi: At least 15 passengers were killed and 50 others were injured on Sunday after 10 bogies of Rawalpindi-bound Hazara Express train derailed near Sahara railway station, 275 km away from Karachi, according to Geo News.

Locals, rescue workers and police were seen trying to pull out people from the derailed coaches. Deputy Superintendent of Pakistan Railways Mahmood Rehman confirmed that at least 15 bodies have so been recovered from the damaged bogies.

“Right now, the focus is on rescue work and recovering people from the derailed compartments,” he said, adding that the cause of the accident is being investigated.

Train operations have been suspended in the interior districts of Sindh in Pakistan after the derailment, reports added.
