Jalgaon: A truck carrying labourers overturned and fell into a roadside pit in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon, killing 16 and injuring five people.
According to police, the accident took place in the wee hours of Monday when the papaya-laden truck was headed from Dhule to Yawal in Jalgaon. Among the deceased were some family members of the labourers including two children and a 15-year-old girl.
The truck was hauled out of the pit with the help of a JCB machine, police informed. Those injured were admitted to Jalgaon Civil Hospital.
