17 Corona Warriors Among 76 New COVID Patients In Odisha’s Ganjam

Berhampur:  The south Odisha district of Ganjam continues to lead the COVID-19 tally with 76 fresh cases being reported in the last 24 hours.

Among the 76 cases, 17 are corona warriors and six among them from Aska, four from Bhanjanagar, three from Kabisuryanagar, two from Polasara and one from Dharakote block.

Earlier in the day, SP Ganjam Brijesh Kumar Rai had tweeted about four more policemen testing positive for COVID-19 in the district.

Of 56 active contact cases, three are from Aska, six from Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC), four from Buguda, nine from Chhatrapur, 10 from Kabisuryanagar, five from Polasara, four from Patrapur, three from Hinjili, two each from Belaguntha, Digapahandi, Purushottampur and Sanakhemundi and one each from Bhanjanagar, Dharakote, Khallikote and Kukudakhandi.

Besides, three cases with travel history to Mumbai, Srikakulam and Madhya Pradesh have been reported from Purushottampur, Chhatrapur and Belaguntha.

Of 1271 positive cases in the district, 403 are active with 859 having recovered from the infection. The virus has so far claimed nine lives in the district, the Ganjam collector tweeted.
