17 Succumb To COVID-19 In Odisha In Five Days; Details Of 5 New Deaths Here

Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha touched 1953 on Tuesday with five more persons succumbing to the infection in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Department sources, three deaths have been reported from Nuapada and one each from Keonjhar and Rayagada districts.

The deceased have been identified as:

1. A-52 year-old man of Keonjhar district.

2. A 47-year-old man of Rayagada district who was also suffering from Hypertension and Obesity.

3. An 80-year-old woman of Nuapada district who was also suffering from Hypertension.

4. A 60-year-old woman of Nuapada district who was also suffering from Hypertension and Thyroidism.

5. A 38-year-old woman of Nuapada district who was also suffering from Hypertension.

The state had seen four deaths due to the deadly virus the previous day. While two had died on April 18, another four succumbed to the infection on April 17 and two on April 15.

The last 24 hours also saw 4761 fresh cases with Khurda reporting the highest of 820 cases followed by Sundargarh (673) and Nuapada (534).
