Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha touched 7,765 on Saturday with 68 more deaths being confirmed in the past 24 hours.
A 17-day-old boy from Nayagarh district is the youngest victim.
Odisha has so far seen 1,863 deaths due to the disease this month.
While 660 deaths were reported in May, the number swelled to 1,272 in June and it rose further to 1,884 in July.
With one more death, the number of children and adolescents who lost their lives to COVID during the second wave in the state has gone up to 36
A 12-day-old baby girl from Cuttack and another five-month-old from Mayurbhanj district featured in the Friday list of COVID deaths (August 27). A 1-year-old boy of Bhubaneswar and an 18-year-old girl of Puri were confirmed to have died of COVID on Wednesday (August 25).
The deaths of an 11-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl from Balasore, a 16-year-old girl from Angul, a 16-year-old girl from Cuttack, a 13-year-old boy, a month-old baby girl and a nine-year-old boy were reported on August 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12 and 10 respectively.
Among the fresh fatalities, the highest of 25 are from Cuttack, followed by 7 each from Khurda and Kendrapada.
The deceased have been identified as:
1. A 40 years old of Male of Angul District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.
2.A 45 years old of Male of Angul District who was also suffering from Hypertension.
3.A 75 years old of Male of Angul District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Chronic Kidney Disease.
4.A 62 years old of Female of Angul District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hyperosmolar hyperglycemic syndrome.
5.A 26 years old of Female of Angul District who was also suffering from Sickle Cell Disorder.
6.A 70 years old of Male of Balasore District.
7.A 22 years old of Female of Balasore District who was also suffering from Anemia.
8.A 51 years old male of Balasore District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Hypothyroidism & Chronic Kidney Disease.
9.A 40 years old of Male of Bhadrak District.
10.A 52 years old of Female of Bhadrak District who was also suffering from Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
