Bhubaneswar: For the first time, Odisha government has released the rankings of both government and private polytechnic colleges in the state.
Releasing the ranks of 102 polytechnic colleges in a press conference in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday, Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Pritiranjan Gharai said the government has prepared the ranks on the basis of different parameters in collaboration with the Quality Council of India (QCA). This is for the first time that such a list of polytechnic colleges has been prepared, he added.
While 32 government and 70 privately-owned colleges were evaluated, the top 10 ranks were equally shared by private and government colleges and a Bhubaneswar-based private college topped the ranks.
Admission, attendance, discipline, teaching, infrastructure, results, placement and outcome and financial, administrative and examination record maintenance and innovative activities.
“The primary objective of this ranking is to provide a healthy competition among the colleges in imparting education and excel in results and placements. I hope the rankings will make these colleges introspect,” Gharai said.
