2 Buildings, 27 Plots In Bhubaneswar Detected During Odisha Vigilance Raid On Nayagarh MVI

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday detected two buildings, 27 plots in Bhubaneswar, and 4 ‘Benami’ four-wheelers during raids at seven places linked to Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI), Nayagarh, Panchanan Behera, on allegation of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

ASSETS UNEARTHED

1) A double-storey building over 3000 sqft at Sailashree Vihar, Bhubaneswar.

2) A single-storey building over 2400 sqft at Satya Vihar, Pandara, Bhubaneswar.

3) 27 plots are in prime area – Patharagadia, Dutiala, Ranasinghpur – of Bhubaneswar, of which 10 are ‘Benami’.

4) 4 ‘Benami’ four wheelers (Maruti Suzuki, Ford Figo, Chevrolet DSL, Ashok Leyland Pick-up) and one two-wheeler.

The measurement and valuation/assessment of the buildings/plots is being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing. Bank, postal, insurance and other deposits are also being ascertained.

A Vigilance team led by 6 DSPs, 3 inspectors, 8 ASIs and other staff had carried out simultaneous search at 7 places in Bhubaneswar (Khurda) and Nayagarh and Cuttack districts this morning.

1) Double-storey building at Sailashree Vihar, Bhubaneswar.

2) Single-storey house at Pandara, Bhubaneswar.

3) Rented house at Nayagarh.

4) Office chamber on the premises RTO, Nayagarh.

5) Paternal house at Baliapada, Salipur, Cuttack district.

6) House of a relative at Govindpur, Nilgiripatna, Khurda district.

7) House of another relative at Satya Vihar, Pandara, Bhubaneswar.
