Rourkela: Two young men died while another sustained critical injuries after their motorcycle crashed into a stationary tipper truck near Brahmanipali in Odisha’s Sundargarh district late on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Shubham Barik and Trilochan Seth. The injured, Bikas Nayak, is undergoing treatment at Rourkela Government Hospital.
According to sources, the accident took place when the three were returning home to Bhedabahal village. The collision was so severe that Shubham and Trilochan were thrown off the bike and died at the spot. Locals found Bikas in a pool of blood and rushed him to the hospital.
Eyewitnesses claim that the parked vehicle had no reflective markers or hazard lights and was almost invisible in the dark.
Police have launched an investigation and efforts are underway to nab the driver of the truck.
