Cuttack: Two persons were arrested on Saturday for allegedly raising pro-Pakistan slogans in Chauliaganj area of Odisha’s Cuttack city.
As per information, Chauliaganj Police arrested the two accused persons as they reportedly raised ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogan, recorded it and made viral on social media.
The two, arrested on charges of indulging in anti-national activities, have been identified as Saurabh Kumar Sahu and Gautam Lenka from Mahanadi Vihar area of Cuttack.
Sources said the two had raised anti-national slogans near Gandhipalli Gada on the bank of River Mahanadi on May 15. Accused Saurabh raised the slogan and Gautam recorded it on his mobile. After that, the accused made it viral.
Police have seized two mobile phones from the possession of the accused persons. Two cases were earlier pending against Saurabh in Chauliaganj police station, police said, adding that the duo tried to destroy communal harmony in the city.
