Bhubaneswar: Rain coupled with lightning and high-velocity surface wind is likely to lash at least 15 districts of Odisha on Saturday afternoon, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
State capital Bhubaneswar and Cuttack city are also likely to be affected.
In a nowcast warning issued at 1.25 pm, the IMD sounded yellow warning for Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Gajapati, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar city) Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Puri, Ganjam, Balangir, Kendrapada, Nuapada, Jagatsinghpur and Nayagarh.
Light to moderate rain with thundershower, lightning and surface wind with 40 kmph may occur in some places of these districts in next three hours.
In another message, the weather agency issued yellow warning for Kalahandi and Malkangiri districts in the afternoon.
