2 Maldives Ministers Arrested For Performing Black Magic On President Muizzu
Mumbai: Maldives Police arrested two serving ministers for allegedly performing black magic on President Mohamed Muizzu, PTI reported on Thursday.
Shamnaz Saleem, a state minister in the Environment Ministry, her ex-husband Adam Rameez, a minister at the President’s Office, and another person were arrested, local media said quoting police officials.
Police, however, didn’t share any information about the reasons or alleged performance of black magic.
“Shamnaz, along with three others, was arrested on Sunday. All three of them have been remanded in custody for seven days. She was suspended from her post on Wednesday as per the Environment Ministry,” news portal Sun.mv reported. It added that Rameez has also been suspended, a day later.
Police searched Shamnaz’s home and seized some items before arresting her, another report said.
Both Shamnaz and Rameez worked with Muizzu as members of the Male City Council when the latter was serving as the city’s mayor.
After Muizzu assumed office as President last November, Shamnaz was first appointed as a state minister at Muliaage, the latter’s official residence, before being transferred to the Environment Ministry.
