20 Journalists Die Of COVID-19 In Peru
At least 20 journalists have died from COVID-19 in Peru, highlighting the risks media personnel face as they race to cover the pandemic, often without protective gear.
Peru is not the only country in South America to report the death of journalists from coronavirus.
At least 12 journalists have reportedly died from the virus in Ecuador, about eight in Brazil and at least one in Nicaragua, among deaths in other countries, the Guardian reported.
Around the world, at least 117 journalists in 31 countries have succumbed to coronavirus, according to an estimate by Swiss NGO Press Emblem Club.
