Baripada: At least 25 people were injured, some of them seriously, in a collision between a bus and a car in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Saturday.
As per sources, the mishap took place on NH-49 at Dwarkhandi Ghat in Bangiriposhi area of the district when the bus reportedly lost control and crashed into the car.
Four travelling in the car have been identified as medicine representatives from Balasore. The accident occurred when they were returning from Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district.
The car’s driver sustained major injuries while the passengers sustained minor injuries, said sources.
On being informed, fire service personnel and police team rushed to the spot for rescue operations.
The injured were immediately rushed to a hospital in Bangiriposhi, and those critical were shifted to Baripada for further treatment.
