Lucknow/Bhubaneswar: Body of a 27-year-old woman from Odisha was found in the back seat of a car in Vrindavan Colony area of Lucknow on Thursday.
Her identity was ascertained after police unlocked one of the two phone recovered from the spot. “She is a resident of Bhubaneswar. Her family members told police she was in Lucknow looking for a job and they had lost communication with her,” ACP, Cantonment, Abhinav Kumar was quoted as saying by media.
Police are expecting her parents to reach Lucknow on Friday.
According to reports, some boys spotted the body with foam oozing from the mouth, when they reached the car to fetch their cricket ball, in the thickets near an overhead water tank in sector 19 of Vrindavan Colony. There was no external injury on the body and her clothes were undisturbed.
Police have also identified the owner of the car but his mobile phone was found to be switched off. “Two teams have been formed to solve the case and ascertain the cause of the woman’s death,” the ACP said.
The reports further said that the FSL team had claimed ‘drug overdose’ to be the cause of the death. A Kanpur man, who was reportedly with the girl, is also missing. His mobile phone and documents were found in the vehicle, it added.
