28-Year-Old Burnt Alive Inside Car In Greater Noida; Murder Over Loan Suspected

New Delhi: A 28-year-old man was burnt to death after a Fortuner car caught fire in Greater Noida. The incident occurred about 100 meters off the road, where the vehicle was discovered.

The victim has been identified as Sanjay Yadav, a 28-year-old resident of Nehru Nagar, Ghaziabad, who was involved in real estate. Eyewitnesses reported that efforts by locals and police to rescue him from the burning car were unsuccessful, India Today reported.

The victim’s family claimed that they lost contact with him around 2.30 pm, following which they reported the matter to the police. They claimed that Sanjay had given a loan of Rs 5 lakh to the accused, which could’ve been the motive behind the murder. The victim’s family further claimed that the accused stole jewellery from Sanjay after killing him.

Police suspect that the accused may have suffered burn injuries while carrying out the crime. As a result, they are visiting hospitals to ascertain if anyone with burn injuries admitted themselves around the same time as Sanjay was killed.

The victim’s family filed a complaint, leading to the detention of two people reported to be friends of the victim. However, the police suspect that more people could be behind the crime and are currently investigating the case.
