3 Arrested For Attack On RTI Activist & BJP Leader In Odisha’s Jajpur
Jajpur: Police on Thursday arrested three persons from Dharmasala area for hurling bombs at the car of RTI activist and BJP leader Sarbeswar Behura.
Informing about the investigation Jajpur SP Rahul PR said, a special team was formed under the leadership of SDPO, Jajpur Road, Chimnay Kumar Nayak. The investigation was supervised by Additional SP of Kalinga Nagar Jayaram Satapathy.
During the investigation police found the involvement of several persons of whom three have been arrested for their direct involvement. Hunt is on nab the others involved, said the SP and added four bombs were hurled at Behura.
The attack was found to be an act of revenge. The accused had come under the scanner of police and administration and they had nurtured anger against Behura for this, said the SP.
It may be mentioned here that Behura was going home when some bike-borne men attacked his car near Imam Nagar village on March 27 night. Behura’s co-passenger, Sushant Behera, was injured in the attack.
Both were critically injured and rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Behura has uncovered several irregularities in government schemes from the district.
