Nayagarh: Three policeman were injured after being attacked by locals over road work at Gudupangi village under Sadar police limits in Nayagarh district on Saturday.
According to reports, a group of villagers scuffled with policemen when a road construction work for connecting Balabhadrapur village and Dhipmala village was being carried out under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna. They were demanding that the road should also connect their village.
Besides damaging a police vehicle, the villagers also vandalised a JCB machine engaged in the construction work.
In view of the violent situation, a platoon of police force was deployed at the spot to prevent any untoward incident.
