Balangir: Three persons have been detained for the alleged murder of a young man in the Deogaon area of Odisha’s Balangir district late on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Sujit Bhoi. He was the son of retired police personnel Minaketan Bhoi of Antarla village.
According to sources, the murder took place when Sujit along with three friends were enjoying a feat behind a kendu leaf depot at Antarla. A dispute, reportedly fuelled by past enmity, escalated while they were consuming alcohol. Following which, the accused attacked Sujit with a beer bottle and stick, leading to his death on the spot.
On being informed, Deogaon police along with a scientific team seized materials from the spot this morning and detained three youths for interrogation.
