Bhubaneswar: Three long-distance trains will be diverted for a month and a half, necessitated by ongoing redevelopment work of Cuttack railway station.

For a period of 40 days – from August 11 to September 21 – the three trains will run via Barang-Naraj Marthapur-Kapilas Road, instead of the scheduled route via Barang-Cuttack-Kapilas Road.

The three trains — 12515 Coimbatore-Silchar Weekly Super-Fast Express, 22643 Ernakulam-Patna bi-weekly Express and 12509 Bengaluru-Guwahati Tri-Weekly Express – won’t stop at Cuttack station from 11th August to 21st September 2025. Instead, they will be provided stoppage at Naraj Marthapur railway station during this period.

The trains will arrive at Naraj Marthapur at 2.35 am, and depart at 2.37 am during the diversion period.

Cuttack railway station, under Khurda Road division of East Coast Railway, is undergoing extensive transformation, aimed at elevating connectivity and overall passenger experience.

The redevelopment work includes construction of air concourse grid, refurbishment of platform surface with granite flooring and precast coping block, replacement of platform shelter & roofing sheets, pile foundation and steel column for air concourse and other safety-related modernisation works.
