Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha touched 7,628 on Thursday with 66 more deaths being confirmed in the past 24 hours.

The list of daily fatalities includes past deaths for which an audit was done and the cause identified as COVID, the Health Department said.

Odisha has so far seen 1,726 deaths due to the disease this month.

While 660 deaths were reported in May, the number swelled to 1,272 in June and it rose further to 1,884 in July.

Among the COVID deaths confirmed in the last 24 hours is a three-month-old girl from Balangir district. With this, the number of children and adolescents who lost their lives to COVID during the second wave in the state has gone up to 33.

Notably, the deaths of a 1-year-old boy of Bhubaneswar and an 18-year-old girl of Puri were reported on Wednesday.

An 11-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl of Balasore, a 16-year-old girl from Angul, a 16-year-old girl from Cuttack, a 13-year-old boy, a month-old baby girl and a nine-year-old boy died due to the deadly disease on Tuesday, Monday, Sunday, Saturday, Friday, Thursday and Tuesday respectively.

Among the fresh fatalities, the highest of 15 are from Cuttack, followed by 11 from Sambalpur and 8 each from Bargarh and Jagatsinghpur.

Cuttack has been reporting the highest number of deaths for almost one week now.

The deceased have been identified as:

1.A 65 years old of Female of Balasore District who was also suffering from Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus.

2.A 65 years old of Female of Bargarh District.

3.A 65 years old of Male of Bargarh District who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease, End-Stage Renal Disease.

4.A 67 years old of Male of Bargarh District.

5.A 45 years old of Female of Bargarh District who was also suffering from Coronary Artery Disease.

6.A 55 years old of Male of Bargarh District who was also suffering from Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus.

7.A 58 years old of Female of Bargarh District.

8.A 60 years old of Male of Bargarh District.

9.A 38 years old of Male of Bargarh District.

10.A 35 years old of Female of Bhubaneswar.

11.A 3 Month years old of Female of Balangiri District.

12.A 23 years old of Female of Balangiri District.

13.A 50 years old of Male of Boudh District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension.

14.A 30 years old of Female of Boudh District who was also suffering from Sickle Cell Disease.

15.A 50 years old of Male of Boudh District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.

16.A 62 years old of Male of Cuttack District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Chronic Kidney Disease, Hypertension.

17.A 75 years old of Male of Cuttack District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Cerebro Vascular Accident.

18.A 55 years old of Male of Cuttack District who was also suffering from Hypertension.

19.A 65 years old of Female of Cuttack District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension.

20.A 65 years old of Male of Cuttack District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension.

21.A 76 years old of Male of Cuttack District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension.

22.A 80 years old of Female of Cuttack District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension.

23.A 73 years old of Male of Cuttack District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension .

24.A 65 years old of Male of Cuttack District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Seizure Disorder, Cerebro Vascular Accident.

25.A 70 years old of Male of Cuttack District.

26.A 57 years old of Female of Cuttack District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension.

42.A 65 years old of Female of Jagatsinghpur District who was also suffering from Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus.

43.A 52 years old of Female of Jajpur District.

44.A 56 years old of Male of Jajpur District who was also suffering from Left Ventricular Function.

45.A 58 years old of Female of Jajpur District.

46.A 50 years old of Male of Jajpur District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.

47.A 60 years old of Male of Jharsuguda District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Chronic Kidney Disease.

48.A 45 years old of Female of Jharsuguda District who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease.

49.A 53 years old of Male of Kalahandi District.

50.A 62 years old of Female of Kalahandi District.
