3 Projects On Fast Track: Over 500 Villages To Get Pipe Water Supply In Odisha’s Angul
Bhubaneswar: Over 500 villages in Odisha’s Angul district will get the pipe water supply after completion of two ongoing projects.
This was revealed during second day visit to the district by secretary (5T) to chief minister VK Pandian on Tuesday. He discussed the progress of mega pipe water supply project for Pallahara in the district with the officials. The project, which is coming up with a cost of Rs 467.21 crore, will benefit 263 villages after its completion in December.
Pandian also reviewed the progress of mega pipe water supply project for Kishorenagar and Athamalik. The project is executed at a cost of Rs 162.12 crore. It will be completed by August, 2024 and will benefit 256 villages.
Pandian first visited Jagannath Temple and Maa Budhi Thakurani temple at Angul and interacted with the members of the temple committee, priests and public regarding the development of the temples and providing better pilgrim facilities.
Then he went to Khalari High School and interacted with the students and teachers regarding 5T High School Transformation initiative. He motivated the students to keep working to fulfill their goals and aspirations. He also went to Mission Shakti Café and met its members.
The secretary offered tributes to the statue of late Pabitra Mohan Pradhan, prominent freedom fighter and former deputy chief minister, at Pabitra Nagar. Later, he visited Maheswari Temple and indoor stadium at Athamalik.
Special Secretary to CM and Sports & Youth Services secretary R Vineel Krishna, DIG Brijesh Rai, Angul collector Siddharth Shankar Swain and other district officials accompanied Pandian during the visit.
