3-Storey Bldg Worth Rs 1.3 Cr, Flat In Bhubaneswar Detected During Raid On SDA’s Ex-Planning Member

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday detected a 3-storey building worth Rs 1.3 crore, a flat and multiple fund deposits amounting to Rs 1.01 crore during searches on properties linked to former planning member of Sambalpur Development Authority (SDA) Bandita Mohapatra on allegation of possessing disproportionate assets.

Mohapatra was arrested in September by Odisha police for her alleged involvement in issuing fake approval letters of building plans to applicants

Assets unearthed in the name of Mohapatra and her family members:

1) A triple-storey building with area approx 5400 sqft at Unit-19, Soubhagya Nagar, Bhubaneswar, worth Rs 1.30 crore.

2) A flat at Netaji Subash Enclave, Gadakana, Bhubaneswar.

3) 4 plots in and around Baripada town.

4) Rs 3,77,338 in cash.

5) Deposits of over Rs 1.01 crore in Mutual Funds.

6) A four-wheeler (Swift DZIRE) and a two-wheeler.

The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above buildings/flat/plots is being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing and remaining deposits by Mohapatra are also under verification, a Vigilance release said.
