Puri: In a tragic incident, three young men drowned while taking bath in the sea at Chandrabhaga in Odisha’s Puri district on Sunday.
As per preliminary information, the three youths working in a private company in Bhubaneswar visited the Chandrabhaga beach.
The incident took place when the youths were taking bath in the sea near the Eco Retreat site. The three reportedly drowned after being pulled deep into the water due to strong current.
After getting information, Fire Service personnel and the lifeguards deployed at Chandrabhaga beach rushed to the spot and rescued the three youths. They were immediately rushed to hospital.
Sources said two of them were declared dead on arrival at a hospital in Gop, while another youth was pronounced dead by the doctors at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Puri.
Two of the deceased youths were the residents of Bhubaneswar, while the third one was from Pahala area near the capital city.
The victims were later identified through documents and information from their families.
