33000 Odisha Students Appear For First-Phase JEE Main

Bhubaneswar: Altogether 33,000 students appeared for the first-phase Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, which began on Monday.

Of 9 lakh students taking the test in 233 centres across the country and abroad, 33,000 students are from Odisha. The exam is being conducted in seven cities – Balasore, Berhampur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Rourkela and Sambalpur – across the state.

The examination will continue till January 9.

The students reported at their respective centres two hours before the commencement of the examination, which is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The examination for the Bachelor in Technology (B.Tech) and Bachelor in Engineering (BE) is conducted in the computer-based test (CBT) mode. The test for the part-I paper for the Bachelor in Architecture (B.Arch) and part-II aptitude test will be conducted in the CBT mode, the offline test for the part-III Drawing paper will be conducted in the offline mode. Similarly, the Mathematics part-I and aptitude part-II and part-III of Bachelor in Planning for the Planning-based paper will be conducted in CBT mode.

The examination will be held in two sittings from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.

The students have been asked to bring their admit card, passport-size photo and anyone document like PAN card, driving license, ration card, admit card of the Class XII Board examination and bank passbooks as a proof of their identity.

Like previous years, the students have been asked not to carry mobile phone, microphone, camera, pen drive, pencil box, handbag, wallet, water bottle, stationery items.

While CCTV cameras have been installed at all centres, the students will be provided with pen, pencil and plain papers inside the examination hall. Students reporting late at their centres will not be allowed to sit for the examination.

After the examination ends, NTA will upload the answer key on its website https://nta.ac.in

While the results of the first-phase JEE Main will be announced on January 31, NTA will conduct the second-phase JEE Main from April 3 to 9.
