Bhubaneswar: To ensure quality healthcare services in Mayurbhanj district, 35,000 doctors will be posted at different hospitals by next month, health minister Pratap Jena informed on Friday.
“We plan to invest Rs 50 crore on medical equipment for Baripada medical college and hospital. It has also been decided to provide Rs 1,000 each towards transportation charges to those pregnant women, who make their own arrangement to reach hospitals,” the minister said.
Highlighting that the government’s decision to provide 329 motorcycle ambulances in the inaccessible pockets of the district, Jena said a 50-bed ward at Rairangpur hospital will also be opened for providing better services to pregnant women and their children.
