Bhubaneswar: Four persons were arrested on Monday in connection with a brutal attack on a youth with sword near Sishu Bhawan traffic square in Bhubaneswar.
The accused, identified as Mohammad Raja, Mohammad Saddam, Nasimuddin Saha, and Ajamusin Saha, reportedly fled the scene after the attack. Two swords and two motorcycles were also seized from the accused persons by the Airfield police, sources said
The incident took place on the night of May 12 when the victim, identified as Biki Nayak, was riding his motorcycle near the square. A car allegedly collided with his bike from behind and several assailants emerged from the vehicle, launching a violent assault.
As Nayak tried to escape towards Forest Park Road, the assailants chased him and attacked him with a sword, causing him critical injuries.
On being informed, police arrived at the scene and sent the injured man to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar. Following a thorough investigation, the four suspects were apprehended.
