4 Injured In Acid Attack Over Family Dispute In Odisha’s Balangir
Balangir: At least four persons were critically injured in an acid attack by their relatives over a family dispute in Odisha’s Balangir district on Friday.
According to sources, Tulasi Sahu and his sister Sanju Sahu live as neighbours in Sahu pada of Bangamunda in the district. On Thursday night, when one of the chickens of Tulasi did not come back from outside, he accused Sanju of stealing the bird and abused her.
On Friday afternoon, both families were engaged in heated exchange of words over the issue again. In a fit of rage, Tulasi and his son Nepal Sahu threw acid on Sanju’s family members.
The four persons, who were injured in the acid attack, are Sanju, Khaga Sahu, Jagabandhu Sahu and Subas Sahu. They were first admitted to a hospital in Kantabanji and later shifted to a hospital in Balangir.
On being informed, a team from Bangamunda police station went to the village and arrested Tulasi and Gopal.
