4 Projects In Puri To Be Completed In 30 Months: Collector

Puri: After the state Cabinet approved the budget for four projects in the district on Thursday, collector Balwant Singh said the projects will be completed in 30 months.

Speaking to media persons, the collector said Rs 461.25 crore has been sanctioned for construction of Jagannath Ballav Pilgrim Centre, Mahodadhi Market Complex, Shree Setu and renovation of Musa river in the first phase.

The projects will be taken up on turn-key basis under Augmentation of Basic Amenities and Development of Heritage and Architecture (ABADHA) scheme. The Odisha Bridge and Construction Corporation will execute the works through Nagarjuna Construction Corporation Limited, Singh said.

The Cabinet has also approved the proposal to alienate government land and acquired/purchased land for “Heritage Security Corridor around Shree Jagannath Temple, Puri” in favour of Shri Jagannath Temple Managing Committee, Puri.

Puri legislator Jayant Sarangi said priority will be given to market complex to rehabilitate the displaced traders.

Mass Education minister Sameer Ranjan Dash, deputy chairman of State Planning Board Sanjay Dasburma, Brahmagiri MLA and deputy collector of Puri were also present.
