Mayurbhanj: Four women were killed and two others sustained serious injuries after being struck by lightning in different parts of Mayurbhanj district on Friday.
Three of the deceased were the residents of Tikarpada village under Baripada Sadar Tehsil, while another one hails from Tentulidiga village in the district.
Those injured were admitted to Baripada district headquarters hospital by some villagers. Their condition is stated to be stable, sources said.
The unfortunate incident occurred when the four had gone to a nearby field for grazing their goats.
