Nayagada: Four workers sustained grievous injuries after a major fire broke out at an under-construction ethanol plant near Gateri village under Nuagaon area of Odisha’s Nayagada district.
According to preliminary information, the fire erupted suddenly while testing of some machinery was in progress at the plant, which is under construction.
The blaze quickly spread, trapping at least four persons who were working at the site. The injured workers suffered 50 per cent burns.
As their condition was critical, they were given primary treatment in Nayagada and immediately shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar hospital for advanced medical care.
The injured have been identified as Dilip Nayak, Sarat Sahu, Bibhuti Pradhan and Braja Kishore Pradhan. The injured persons are stated to be residents of the local area.
Police are probing the exact cause of the incident.
