Mumbai: A 43-foot nude statue resembling Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump was seen towering over Las Vegas, in the American state of Nevada, ahead of Vice-President Kamala Harris’ rally on September 29.
The art piece. bearing the name ‘Crooked and Obscene’, was spotted over Interstate 15, which leads to Utah.
Made of foam, the statue weighs around 2,720 kg.
The statue brings to mind naked sculptures of the former US President that attracted attention during his 2016 Presidential campaign. However, the earlier figures were more realistic in size. This one is larger than life.
The foam Trump figure was installed on Friday evening and is expected to remain on display for some time, with no set end-date. It’s obvious that the team behind the installation put in significant effort, triggering conversation about the upcoming election in November.
It won’t surprise if the statute stays up until Election Day.
Trump supporters criticised the ‘creepy’ installation on social media after photos of the explicit model surfaced on X.
“Who thought this was a good idea? I can’t imagine driving by that every day.. lol,” wrote one user.
“I’m voting for the naked guy on the freeway!!!” commented another netizen.
