4G On Moon: NASA, Nokia To Build First Mobile Network On Moon
New Delhi: NASA has selected Bell Labs, the research wing of Nokia to establish the first 4G LTE network system on the moon.
According to a report in The Indianwire, the Finnish company on Monday said that a wireless communication system will be established on the lunar surface by 2022.
The wireless communication system will allow astronauts to make voice and video calls, exchange data, and remotely control robotic devices from space.
The idea of installing 4G and 5G networks on the lunar space has been inspired by “terrestrial technology” and around $14.1 million has been granted for this project.
This initiative is a part of NASA’s programme to send humans to the moon by 2024.
